Backstory worked with the local Friends of Walnut Canyon organization pro bono to help cultivate a more cohesive approach to rallying the neighborhood and fellow community members in an effort to save the limited green space in Los Angeles from development. Efforts for this included a refresh to their organization’s identity with a new logo that was planted throughout the neighborhood on signs with calls to action to via a new slogan, “discover it. explore it. save it.”.

Backstory also launched and maintained the FOWC social accounts for a direct line to the community and easy access to city updates, news, and alerts. The resulting decision from Los Angeles was to deny the developers their approval to build - and now we continue working to engage with additional organizations that can purchase and protect the land for generations to come. Check out the video we produced in 2022 as way to showcase the beauty and history of this land.
